Capturing the Australian Landscape

Alison Percy In The Studio
Capturing the North East Victorian landscape, through the Kiewa Valley and up into Alpine areas has almost become an obsession for local artist, and club member, Alison Percy. With frequent trips throughout the seasons to Falls Creek, the Albury Ski Club has become her second home. Alison has spent many years documenting these trips with the catastrophic bushfires in 2003 leaving a lasting impression upon her due to the utter devastation.
Capturing the Australian landscape while exposed to the elements as it rapidly changes, is a truly wondrous experience…
Alison’s love of the high country culminated in her first Melbourne solo exhibition ‘Captured Landscapes’ at Fortyfivedownstairs Gallery, Flinders Lane in May through to June 2018. This new body of work reflects her continued fascination in the balance and sensitivity of fluid line – painting in the studio and most recently out in the landscape, en plein air (in the open air).
